This morning, MPP Derek Sloan released a statement for the people of Canada
He starts by stating that too often, Canada’s health bureaucrats have imposed crushing restrictions to our Charter-based liberties without the need to justify them with evidence, and it looks like evidence will be demanded on May 13.
Anyone following what is happening in Aylmer knows that they have been a source of conspiracy throughout this pandemic. A judge in Aylmer, Ontario refused outright to grant the Provincial Attorney General’s motion to lockdown Aylmer’s Church of God, similar to what Alberta Health has done to Edmonton’s GraceLife Church. The judge ruled that the church does not pose an immediate public health danger and that it would be wise to de-escalate the situation. Pastor Henry Hildebrandt, and others, will appear in court as scheduled on May 13 on contempt charges, but in more good news, their counsel will be allowed to cross-examine the Regional Chief Medical Health Officer regarding the church gatherings’ actual risk posed to community health.
Last Friday, MPP Sloan received his summons to appear in court this June for attending a service there the previous Sunday. For the video of him receiving his summons, it is included here in the article.
“I look forward to standing up for Canadian rights to assemble and worship freely just as proudly as I stood up in that church. And truly, if you love this country as much as I do, now is the time to stand up for it. There’s an old saying that “freedom isn’t free.”
Canadian freedom has been paid for, even to the point of death, by those who went before us, and the unpleasant truth is that we, too, must be prepared to stand up for it.
Our governments have become accustomed to the taste of tyranny, and seem to be eager for more.
Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government has used your tax dollars to purchase most of what you read and see in the mainstream media. But it isn’t enough.
Now, his Heritage Minister, Steven Guilbeault, is tabling a piece of legislation, Bill C-10, that would give the government the power to control what is posted on social media by placing nearly every facet of communication under the control of the CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission).
If you think this sounds like something only totalitarian countries like Communist China practice, you’re right.”
This month, Health Minister Patty Hajdu assured Canadians that Prime Minister Trudeau and his party remain committed to having conversations with international partners about vaccine passports. According to MPP Sloan,
“This is just another exertion of overreach and control, another abuse of power, and not a scientifically rational policy that will keep us safe or benefit us in any way. We don’t even know the long-term effects of the various vaccines yet, as they are still in the experimental phase. Vaccine passports for international travel will open the door to medical apartheid, two classes of citizens with different levels of freedom in this country. That isn’t a Canada that anyone who values freedom would wish to live in.
Vaccine passports are also a violation of medical privacy. It’s no one’s business what vaccines you may or may not have had, and neither is any of your health information.
Pushing vaccine passports, “immunity certificates”, or anything else of that kind, is nothing but coercion, and anyone who thinks this control will stop at international travel and NOT extend to domestic Canadian life simply hasn’t been paying much attention for the past 14 months.
Calling ourselves a free country has to mean something. What it means right now is pushing back against ideas that will take away our rights to freedom and privacy.
Talk to your friends and family. Say what you really think. Tell people that the longer freedoms are surrendered, the more difficult they are to win back. Don’t ever let anyone tell you that it’s selfish to desire freedom or for the “old normal” to return. You aren’t selfish for wanting to be free. You’re just Canadian. You want your children and your grandchildren, and their grandchildren, to be what you are. Free Canadians!”
